New BIOS release 1.08 provides new fan control changes to improve acoustics. In addition,
Intel offers a new upgrade kit for maximum improvement on workstations environments, with
C15472-701 level boards.
BIOS releases contain critical errata fixes. Therefore, Intel recommends updating the BIOS on

4.5 Remove the Wind Tunnel Assembly
The Intel® Workstation Acoustic Kit can be used to retrofit either a new or existing Intel® Server
Board SE7505VB2 system in the Intel® Server Chassis SC5250-E. It replaces the active
heatsink solution presented on Section 4.2. Please refer to Intel® WorkStation Cooling Kit
User’s Guide for complete instructions for removal of Active heatsink Solution (Order Number:
C55113-001, Rev. 2)
